Family Fun Activities: There is a great range of activities located locally for all the family, including:
Quadbiking, Go Karting, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre at Castle Espie, Aquarium, Butterfly House, W5 (interactive science for all ages), Delamont Country Park (with large play area), Boattrips, Swimming, Decorate your own Pottery and much much more......Sailing and other boating activities are available on Strangford Lough - a short drive from The Barn Self Catering Holiday Home Accommodation. Sailing & Boating: Many recognized training centres in the area. Courses in all aspects of sailing, cruising, power boating, windsurfing and kayaking etc are available locally including boat hire in many cases. A water Taxi Service (www.strangford-sea-treks.com) is also available to meet your individua needs including birdwatching, sightseeing etc.

Cycling: There is ample opportunity to cycle around the beautiful Co. Down countryside. Organized tours can be arranged with Outdoor Ireland North (www.outdoorirelandnorth.co.uk). Information about suggested routes can be obtained from Ards Cycling Club (028 9182 0540) or www.ardscyclingclub.co.uk

Bird watching: Strangford Lough is an area of international importance for the study of wildlife.

Horse Riding: Several equestrian centres within easy reach.

National Trust: There are several National Trust properties within easy reach of the Barn including, Rowallane, Castle Ward and Mount Stewart. Walking and Cycling tours all around Co Down and the Mourne Mountains are available for our visitors all within a short drive from The Barn Self Catering Holiday Home Accommodation. Walking: County Down is a treasure for walking holidays. The Mourne Mountains are only a 45 minutes drive from the Barn. Several Forest Parks (Castlewellan & Tollymore) are even closer.

Fishing: Coarse, Game, and Fly fishing all available within 5-10 minutes drive.

Golf: Many golf courses, including the Royal County Down, one of the world's top 10 links.

Flying: Flying lessons and/or excursions can be arranged at the Ulster Flying Club (Newtownards Airport).

Shopping: There are lots of good shopping towns nearby (e.g. Belfast, Bangor, Lisburn, Newtownards).
